The Sims has been a mainstay in my home forever also. It was my wife's favorite game when I met her back in 2001. She's gotten every iteration of it and we bought all the expansions for 1, 2, and 3 (not 4 though). It has been her favorite series forever, challenged only by Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. She's also not happy with the direction EA is taking the series. She recently (the day before yesterday, funny enough) fired up Sims 4 after a few years to see if she feels any differently about it now. And she doesn't like the sound of 5 at all. It's really sad when big companies destroy things that have been so beloved by their fans for so long. It's always a clear indicator that they don't understand the fans, and don't really care to. It's really sad and I hate to see it.

Life by You looks amazing. I somehow missed that, but definitely going to keep an eye on it!

Ah that’s cool! Glad your wife has had so much enjoyment from it over the years (although it makes it even more sad to see the direction the series is taking when you’ve invested so much time into it).

It’s such a shame. Every step of the way EA seem to be making ridiculous mistakes or just showing disregard for what the players actually want. It’s a far cry from the original game at this point.

Life By You definitely looks interesting. Not a straight-up replacement but worth keeping an eye on I think
